About Hemis Festival
Hemis Monastery is one of the most famous Buddhist gompa in Ladakh. Although this serene monastery is filled with lovely colors and lots of hustle and bustle during its annual festival held here in summer. Every year during the month of June and July, Hemis festival is organized in honour of Guru Padma Sambhav's birth anniversary. The Hemis festival observe sacred rituals which is believed to give spiritual strength and good health. The Ladakh Hemis festival tour generally starts in the Summers.
